Series forms part of the Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds and consists of records related to various Eastern Shore families and individuals including Duncan Johnson, Hal de Ganges, Ross C. Graves, Joan Scott, Agatha Palmer Ganong, and the Siteman, Dewey, Eisan, Ells, Gerrard, Hartling, Henderson, Johnson, Hilchie, Hill, McCarthy, Beaver, Jamieson, O’ Bryan, Palmer, Peitzch, Richardson, Robson, Shellnutt, Twining, Webber, Smith, Mitchell, Moser, Newcombe, and Stoddard families as well as other Eastern Shore and Pictou County families. Records include lists of settlers, wills, Loyalist claims, vital records, genealogies, petitions, muster rolls, obituaries, cemetery inscriptions, newspaper clippings, school papers, voter lists, correspondence, land records, and other documents. Part of Clergy of St. Paul's Church fonds
Series consists of registers recording baptisms, burials, confirmations and marriages held in the Parish of St. Pauls. Some registers record sacraments administered in Lunenburg, Annapolis Royal, Windsor, and Newport (1749-1861). Also included is the missionary register of William Ellis, which covers areas of Newport, Windsor, Falmouth, Cornwallis, Horton, and Rawdon (1775-1795), as well as the burial register of J. Keefler, sexton (1817-1838). Extant notes from the registers include lists of pew rents and banns, bonds, some marriage certificates and notes in lieu of licenses, the cradle roll of infants born in the parish and a list of pastoral visitations. Series forms part of the Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds and consists of information from church records and vital statistics gathered by Annabel Ells during the course of her research. Included are marriage, birth, and death records, registers, and cemetery listings from various churches and parishes. Records include parish registers from St. Matthew’s and the parishes of Ship Harbour and Sheet Harbour, historical notes from St. George’s Church in Halifax, notes from The Presbyterian Witness, records related to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, sketches of saints’ lives, letters and journal extracts of Bishop Charles Inglis, and other religious records. Also included is a census of Loyalist settlers at Ship Harbour who came with Capt. Thomas Green, various obituaries, a memorial of Henry Siteman, and correspondence between the Bishop of Nova Scotia and Rev. John Stevenson. Accession number: 2013.066

Series forms part of the Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds and consists of excerpts and clippings from various newspapers including the Family Herald, notes from Pictou County newspapers, and stories taken from various magazines. The majority of the clippings and notes refer to various Eastern Shore families but also include clippings about locations like Halifax and Dartmouth as well as schools, poems, recipes, church and local history, and notes on vessels that shipped along the Eastern Shore. Also includes vital records. In addition, series contains a German pamphlet from 1923 entitled Das Hakenkreuz, a copy of the statement of Fred Gerhardt regarding the destruction of the Potentate by German submarine in 1918, petitions, and correspondence including one love letter to a young Annabel from Dewey McElmon in 1915 which still contains a lock of hair. Series forms part of the Ronald Slade family fonds and consists of pages from the Slade family bible recording births, deaths, and marriages, including Charles Slade, Mary Jane (Crawford) Brown, and their children: Charles Duncan and Alexander Crawford. Also included are records of Mary Jane’s first husband, James Brown, and their children: Archibald, Isabella, James, Henry, Mary Ann, Frances, Ronald, and Edward. In addition, records for Duncan (Charles Duncan) Slade and Sarah Day, Alexander C. Slade and Hattie F. Gaetz and their children: Elliott, Gertrude, Charles, and Ronald are included together with records of Gertrude Marie Myers and James W. Myers. Series also includes the obituary of Mrs. Alexander Slade (Hattie Florence Gaetz), a certificate of Martha Frances Abbott, the marriage certificate of Ronald Mitchell Slade and Annie Marie Murley, and two marriage certificates of Alexander C. Slade and Hattie F. Gaetz. In addition, series contains clippings of the obituary of Mrs. Alexander Slade, an advertisement requesting information about Slades posted by Ida Slade, and two obituaries of Ronald M. Slade. Series forms part of the Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds and consists of diaries kept by Annabel Ells, John O. Siteman, and Hugh Fraser Siteman as well as two address books, one owned by Hugh F. Siteman which contains mailing addresses and the other owned by Annabel which is really more of a vital record as it contains mostly anniversary and birth dates. Also includes a keepsake album belonging to a young Annabel in which friends and relatives wrote her messages as well as prayer, hymn, and catechism books and several bibles that belonged to Mr. and Mrs. John Siteman, Eddie Ells, and Peggy Richard Standring. Part of Stanley F. Flaherty family fonds
Series forms part of the Stanley F. Flaherty family fonds and contains the marriage certificate of John Fenwick Bayers of Musquodoboit Harbour and Sarah Jane Turple of Clam Bay on October 21, 1890 and signed by Rev. F. J. [Pentelowe]. John F. Bayers born was c. 1867 and was the son of George and Margaret Bayers. He was employed as a mill hand in Musquodoboit Harbour at the time of his marriage. Sarah Jane Turple was born c. 1868 and was the daughter of Alexander and Regina (Webber) Turple of Clam Bay. Together they had two children, Etta Regina Bayers (b. July 1, 1891) and Olive Bayers. Sarah Jane died sometime between about 1893 and 1897, when John F. Bayers remarried. He was then employed as a seaman and married Matilda Dillman of Dartmouth. He died sometime before 1923.
