Part of Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds
Series forms part of the Annabell (Sitman) Ells fonds and consists of correspondence with Mr. and Mrs. John O. Siteman, Hugh Fraser Siteman, and various other correspondents. Like many people in the early 1900s, Annabel collected postcards. The series includes a number of postcards depicting German soldiers and other German photographs written between 1910 and 1920 and predominantly written in German. Series also contains a large number of postcards sent to and from Annabel Ells from Boston, California, Scotland and other locations as well as other miscellaneous letters and cards from various individuals including correspondence with clients for whom Annabel was conducting research and responses from people to whom she had made genealogical inquiries. Also includes a list of the negatives held by NSARM and a piece of the wedding dress of John Siteman’s first wife Susan which was found in an envelope addressed to him in the Magdalene Islands a year after their marriage. The fonds consists of records accumulated by Annabel (Siteman) Ells during the course of her research on the area of Ship Harbour and the families who lived there as well as personal records created and accumulated throughout her lifetime. The fonds includes a wide variety of records such as land related documents, wills, Loyalist petitions, census information, court papers, church registers and vital statistics including marriage, birth, and death records; school papers, genealogies, clippings and notes taken from various newspapers and periodicals, photographs and negatives, correspondence, postcards, and diaries. Mitchell, Hosking family fonds and consists of three letters including one handwritten letter addressed to Mildred and Garth Hosking, one handwritten letter addressed to Roxie Mitchell Hosking from Jemima (possibly Jemima Catherine Mitchell, m. Nelson Havelock Mitchell), and two typed letters to Garth Hosking from Atlantic Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Ltd. Also includes one military related post card and other material. Accession number 2003.011

Collection consists of postcards accumulated by Anna Barbara Webber. Postcards date from 1905 to 1914, but predominantly from 1906 to 1912. Most postcards are addressed either to Anna Barbara or to her (then) future husband William Wilson Webber, although there are also some to other family members. Most of the postcards refer to events and activities on the Eastern Shore and in Dartmouth, where Anna Barbara lived during this time period. Postcards are each assigned an individual number from 1 to 696, and are arranged into five categories pertaining to their styles or types: postcards representing specific communities, landscape postcards, photograph postcards, greeting cards, and romance cards. Within each category, cards are arranged in order of their number. Accession number 2008.013.

Part of Lydia Webber fonds
Series forms part of the Lydia Webber fonds and consists of several letters to Lydia Webber from her sons Harvey and Roy. Series also contains one letter from James Peter Webber (Lydia’s brother) which is addressed to Catherine (Dooks) Webber (Lydia’s mother). Series also consists of postcards, Christmas cards, and other greeting cards accumulated or created by Lydia Webber. Most of the cards are addressed to Lydia Webber and are from a variety of senders including her sons Odous, Harvey, and Roy. Some cards are also from her husband Albert, who sent them from Anticosti Island, Quebec and Souris, Prince Edward Island, possibly during fishing expeditions. Series also includes cards addressed to Albert Webber, sent by Lydia or other family members. In addition, three cards are addressed to Miss Ada Webber and one is addressed to “Harvie Webber” from “Aunt Ada”. Series also contains blank and unidentified postcards and greeting cards, as well as a number of calling cards from family members, relatives, and friends. Accession number: 2008.009
