              Series consists of records, files, and correspondence relating to the daily business operations of Lester D. MacKeen's blacksmithing and heating business, including business promotional calendars for 1928; trade literature and correspondence from paint, stove range, and agricultural equipment firms including Glidden Paints, Frost and Wood, Fawcett, Findlay, Enterprise, General Electric, Calkin, La Compagnie Normand Limitee, and A. Belanger Ltd.; receipts, invoices, bank drafts, order forms, statements, and correspondence relating to the firms Wm. Stairs, Son, & Morrow Ltd. of Halifax, NS and Jas. Simmonds Ltd., Halifax, NS from which MacKeen ordered blacksmithing supplies. Series is arranged in five files: 1) Promotional Materials; 2) Trade Literature Correspondence; 3) Wm.               This fonds contains a small volume of financial records relating to Charles Davison's grocery business in Hansport, Nova Scotia, including invoices, promissory notes and account statements. There is also a photograph of Davison and a copy of a letter written to his wife. MS-4-146

              This fonds consists of records created and collected by both the Canadian Puppet Festival and the Chester Theatre Council related to the management of the Chester Playhouse, including financial records such as statements, budgets, balance sheets, and invoices; press releases; photocopies of reviews; advertising and marketing records; personnel files; construction and maintenance records; meeting minutes and agendas; reports such as attendance records and box office sales; grant applications and fundraising files; correspondence; and event files, including programmes, tickets, and other promotional materials.               Fonds consists primarily of records created and accumulated by Claude Webber’s parents, Leonard Stanley and Greta (Lewis) Webber as well as Claude’s aunt, Mrs. Alexander ‘Sandy’ Webber (Ada Parker). Greta and Ada Webber were both involved with the Upper Lakeville Ladies' Sewing Guild. Fonds also consists of Leonard Webber’s military records from World War I, the account books and receipts of the Ladies' Sewing Guild, and other invoices and receipts. Accession number 2013.037

              Part of Grace (Williams) Forsythe fonds
              Series forms part of the Grace (Williams) Forsythe fonds and consists of records related to Alexander ‘Sandy’ and Cora (Harpell) Myers, who was the sister of Grace’s mother. Cora was born on January 26, 1896 in West Jeddore and became a teacher in the early 1900s. She and her husband Sandy (1893-1957) owned the Salmon River House where Grace lived for several years following her retirement. A note found among the records indicates that they were used by Grace to help create the publications produced by the Marine Highway Historical Society. The series includes a photograph of Cora Harpell’s class at Ostrea Lake School in 1915 with the names of the students; a scrapbook containing clippings of songs; stories; and the prize winners of a matrimonial letter contest featuring Cora’s entry, No Fake Gentleman. Also included are various clippings regarding her school in Ostrea Lake; her graduating class from the Provincial Normal College in 1914; as well as handwritten poems and stories. Series also includes the lyrics to the Normal College school song, an application for a teacher’s license in 1912 that was rejected because she was too young, and a teacher’s license issued in 1914, as well as an earlier letter from a friend in1911. Cora died in Musquodoboit Harbour on February 24, 1995 at the age of 99. Series also contains receipts including postal and remitters’ receipts, invoices, ration forms and coupons, product labels, local business letterhead and advertisements, coupons, tax assessments, a tax notice, and enumeration records. Also included is correspondence to Sandy Myers from people coming to Salmon River House, a Christmas card from Arnold Logan, a Guide’s License, and an order form for a vest.
