A Declaration of Ownership for a ship of 1873 was removed to the Port of Pubnico fonds.
Jacques Gilbert d'Entremont, known as James G. and called "Jim", was born 16 October 1871 at West Pubnico, Nova Scotia. He was the son of Nicolas d'Entremont and Anne Vitaline Amirault, and the brother of H. LĂ©ander d'Entremont. James left school at the age of 16 to fish on the Grand Banks off Newfoundland. In 1895 he married Elaine Elisabeth-Anne d'Entremont, known as Lizy-Ann, and they had nine children. In 1912, James was named Fishery Overseer for the County of Yarmouth. He died 16 June 1956.

In 2001, the Archives received a collection history: from the Parish of West Pubnico that had been bequeathed to them by historian H. Leander d'Entremont. The records of his nephew, Pere Clarence d'Entremont, were transferred to the Archives in 1998. Records relating to the d'Entremont family were also received from the Chancellery of Yarmouth. The James d'Entremont fonds were found in these accessions. Records were given by Elise d'Entremont in 2010 regarding the James d'Entremont fonds.
