Biographical history
Jessie F. Rose was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia on 11 June 1850, daughter of John and Elizabeth MacDonald. She had one brother Charles, and two sisters Agnes and Elizabeth. She lived with her two sisters on Water Street, Pictou. Jessie was a school teacher and taught at the West End School for fifty years. Jessie died in 1921.

Fonds consists of one teaching certificate, standards of examination, envelope with an image of Pictou Academy stamped on it, letter from Rose's sister from the Centennial Exposition, Philadelphia and a funeral notice for John Rose.
