    Biographical history

    Joseph Hart was born in 1837 in Manchester, Guysborough County, N.S. He married Mary Jane Fraser on 1 October 1871 at Lynn, Mass. In 1875, the Hart family removed to Port Hood where Hart established a store which he operated for many years. He and Mary had four children: Edgar, John, Geneva, and Gertrude. Joseph Hart died in 1937.
