King, Simpson & Co. Ltd. was incorporated on 27 January 1904 in Cumberland County, N.S., with the purpose of building a steam tugboat. The members of the company were G.J. King, Alfred King, Charles Simpson, Jas. W. Simpson, and Edmund J. Embree, who were considered equal partners. The steam tugboat was constructed by C.W. Redmond and was named Victoria.
