Biographical history
Laura Lawson was the daughter of Alexander Lawson, born at Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Her grandfather Alexander Lawson founded the Yarmouth Herald and Telegram newspaper. The family owned and operated the newspaper, and Lawson worked as manager for ten years. Lawson was also a member of the local I.O.D.E., the Yarmouth Historical Society, the Kritosophian Club, the Liberal Association and was a member of the Holy Trinity Anglican Church congregation. Lawson never married and died at Yarmouth 23 July 1970.
