Biographical history

Jason M. Mack was born in 1843 in Mill Village, Nova Scotia, the son of Jason Mack and Augusta Miller of United Empire Loyalist descent. He served as stipendiary magistrate for the Liverpool police district.

Custodial history

Records were transferred to the Dalhousie University Archives from the Dalhousie University Kellogg Health Sciences Library in 2013.

Scope and content

Item is a letter written by Jason M. Mack addressed to any constables or police officers of the town of Liverpool, Nova Scotia, requesting the detainment of George Roy, who had been declared of unsound mind by two local medical practitioners. Roy was a fisherman born in 1842 in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. He died on 25 December 1916 from dementia.
