    Biographical history

    Mary Catherine Strum, the daughter of William Strum and Mary Ann Langille, was born at Mader’s Cove, Nova Scotia in 1871. In 1888, she took the examination for a teacher’s certificate. In 1899 she married Avard Mader (1866-1936) in Mahone Bay. She died at Mahone Bay in 1948.

    The scrapbook was donated by Barbara Feeney in 2016.

    Scope and content

    Fonds consists of an artfully assembled scrapbook of trade cards, calling cards, and other Victorian “scrap” ephemera.
