Series contains correspondence, notes, posters, press releases, reports, participant/guest lists, invitations, meeting minutes, questionnaires, receipts, instructions, menus, seating plans, itineraries, photographs, video, and other material. Series is arranged into ten sub-series for different events and types of events: the annual antique car show, the annual antique show and tell, the annual model boat & ship festival, the Eastern Shore Homecoming, Dominion Day events, heritage dinners, weddings and family reunions, irregular events, the annual Atlantic Canada Harmonica Festival, and volunteer appreciation dinners.               Fonds consists of records of the family of F. Mitchell and the related Hosking family of Nova Scotia and includes financial records, records related to the Murray Harbour Black and Silver Fox Ranching Company, photographs, diary excerpts, correspondence, certificates, records related to tourism, wartime and military memorabilia, religious records, records related to the Freemasons, and music.               Series forms part of F. Mitchell, Hosking family fonds and consists of a booklet containing financial records of the Missionary and Maintenance (M & M) Fund from 1959 to 1966 as well as sheet music for the song, “My Prayer.” The Missionary and Maintenance Fund was operated by a committee within the United Church. The funds were collected and sent to Mrs. Gaetz of Musquodoboit Harbour, who was the general secretary. Accession number 2003.011

              John Daniel Logan fonds

              Fonds contains music manuscripts and published scores, photographs, and autograph letters written by well-known composers such as Jacques Offenbach, Giuseppe Verdi, and John Philip Sousa. Through his work as a music critic and journalist in Toronto and Halifax, Logan communicated with many prominent Canadian musicians in the early twentieth century. Many of the scores, photographs, and autographs included in this collection are a result of his contributions to music criticism. The music and theatre programs are frequently annotated with comments for reviews, and most of his correspondence with musicians and actors relates to his work as a music and theatre critic. Some of the scores were given to Logan as gifts from performers while others were sent to him for review or publication in newspapers. There are several manuscripts of songs by Edith Jessie Archibald, a prominent social activist and suffragist in Halifax. Letters sent to Logan also concern his poetic contributions, and there is a manuscript draft of one of his books, Preludes: Sonnets and other Verses (1906). MS-5-1
