Scope and content
Series forms part of the Eastern Shore District High School fonds and consists of essays written by students pertaining to certain individuals or families such as Reverend Robert Jamieson of Ship Harbour, Rhoda A. Rudolph, Odous Webber of Upper Lakeville, and the Blakeney, Colford, Pettipas, Ramsey, and Roma families. Series also includes essays pertaining to the history of local houses including the Blakeney, Anderson, Myers, Foley, Day, and Crawford residences as well as various historic buildings in Porters Lake including the school, St. Mark’s Church, the 14 ½ Mile House, Innis House, and Eddie Bonn House.

Physical description
In addition to 7 folders of textual material, the series also contains about fourteen pages of graphic material consisting of hand drawn floor plans including plans of Weldon Myers’ house and photocopies of photographs including several related to the Anderson, Myers, Foley, Day and Crawford families. Also features a hand drawn map and three photographs including St. James Hall and Church as well as the oldest headstone in St. James’ Cemetery. In addition there are five photographs of the Innis House, St. Mark’s Church, Eddie Bonn House, and the 14 ½ Mile House in the Porters Lake file.
