              Fonds consists of records from Skarstedts various writing and publishing activities, as well as her personal life. The records contained in this fonds span Skarstedt's years as a secondary student up until the end of her life in 2009. Fonds consists of one sous-fonds - the Zymergy fonds - which contains records that reflect Skarstedt's involvement with the Zymergy literary magazine. Fonds consists of six series: Correspondence (1926-2005), Diaries (1977-1999), Notebooks (1946 - 1987), Artwork (1980 - [after 1996]), Photographs (1973 - [ca. 1995]), Manuscripts and Poems (1975 - 2005).               Sous-fonds consists of Zymergy was formed in 1987 by Sonja Skarstedt and ran until 1991. This bi-annual periodical was the recipient of many Canada Council grants. As the creator, publisher, and editor, Skarstedt was involved in all aspects of the printing process, from editing the content, layout and design to typesetting, paste-ups, and promotion. Skarstedt also interviewed many prominent Canadian authors for Zymergy and contributed book reviews and poetry.This sous-fond consists of four series: photographs, administration, Operational Records Series and Miscellaneous Series. The material found ranges from correspondence with organizations and writers to photographs that appeared in Zymergy. Skarstedt conducted many interviews for Zymergy and other publications, some of these are included in the Operational Records series along with her editorials and reviews. There are also 2 stamps with the Zymergy logo and address that were used for documents.

Included are meeting minutes, reports, and news from local associations including Heritage Goldenville Society, Royal Canadian Legion, Queen’s Lodge No. 34 A. F. & A.               John Daniel Logan fonds

              Fonds contains music manuscripts and published scores, photographs, and autograph letters written by well-known composers such as Jacques Offenbach, Giuseppe Verdi, and John Philip Sousa. Through his work as a music critic and journalist in Toronto and Halifax, Logan communicated with many prominent Canadian musicians in the early twentieth century. Many of the scores, photographs, and autographs included in this collection are a result of his contributions to music criticism. The music and theatre programs are frequently annotated with comments for reviews, and most of his correspondence with musicians and actors relates to his work as a music and theatre critic. Some of the scores were given to Logan as gifts from performers while others were sent to him for review or publication in newspapers. There are several manuscripts of songs by Edith Jessie Archibald, a prominent social activist and suffragist in Halifax. Letters sent to Logan also concern his poetic contributions, and there is a manuscript draft of one of his books, Preludes: Sonnets and other Verses (1906). MS-5-1

              Collection consists of letters, genealogy research, obituaries, newspaper clippings, poetry, a scrapbook, and numerous photographs created, compiled, or accumulated by Margaret Ellsworth relating to the Fraser family of Waternish, Guysborough County and their descendants living throughout Canada and the United States. Also included are materials relating to the MacIntosh family of Sherbrooke and the Giffin family of Isaac's Harbour, Guysborough County. Photographs range in date from the mid-19th century to the late 1980s, and include studio portraits, candid family and community snapshots, as well as landscape images of the St. Mary's River valley and Isaac's Harbour areas. 2016.001
