              The fonds consists of records accumulated by Annabel (Siteman) Ells during the course of her research on the area of Ship Harbour and the families who lived there as well as personal records created and accumulated throughout her lifetime. The fonds includes a wide variety of records such as land related documents, wills, Loyalist petitions, census information, court papers, church registers and vital statistics including marriage, birth, and death records; school papers, genealogies, clippings and notes taken from various newspapers and periodicals, photographs and negatives, correspondence, postcards, and diaries.               Florence Jessie Murray fonds

              Fonds consists primarily of Florence Jessie Murray's personal records regarding her career as a medical missionary in Korea, including correspondence, manuscripts, pamphlets and photographs. There is also a small volume of records that originated with her brother, Alexander Murray, and father, Robert Murray, including correspondence between Alexander Murray, Florence Jessie Murray and E.J.O. Fraser; Reverend Robert Murray's correspondence; and records regarding his involvement with the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes. MS-2-535

              Detailing the logs of training flights, flight exercises, and operations for persons other than primary pilots, who were operating out of the Shearwater area from 1951-1953. The log also details two crashes. One which occurred during an 1952 training exercise, and the other which occurred in 1953. No survivors were recovered in either case. SAM.2005-1
              Lena Ferguson fonds

              Fonds consists of approximately 137 hours of oral history interviews conducted by Lena Ferguson. Most interviewees were residents of the Eastern Shore region of Halifax County, particularly the Chezzetcook area. Interview topics include genealogy, local industries, occupations, music, shipping, community life, traditions, and folklore. In addition to interviews, the creator recorded school reunions, concerts, weddings, and church anniversaries. Several paper transcripts are included as well as scrapbooks featuring articles written by Lena and other newspaper articles regarding the Chezzetcook area. 2019.014

              Part of Eastern Shore Archives map collection
              Series forms part of the Eastern Shore Archives map collection and consists of reproductions of maps acquired by Chrystal Kennedy from originals held by the National Archives of Canada in 2003. They consist of early maps of Nova Scotia including Cape Breton, the Island of St John (PEI), New Brunswick, and Sable Island and feature the names of coastal settlements and harbours as well as bodies of water, waterways, and offshore banks. Two of the maps were possibly drawn by Charles Morris I c. 1749 while the third map is a 1928 copy by C. Pettigrew of an earlier map that was originally drawn by Captain Thomas Durrell c. 1736.               Part of Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds
              Series forms part of the Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds and consists of family photographs and negatives. Included are many photographs of the Ship Harbour area and its residents, particularly Annabel’s home there, both interior and exterior views, the landscape, gardens, her parents, herself, her husband Eddie, and the family’s animals. There are also many photographs of the places where Annabel lived in Halifax including both interior and exterior views, photographs from trips to Ontario and the United States and different locations in Nova Scotia including Peggy’s Cove, Berwick, Kingsport, and Toney River, Pictou Co. where Annabel’s mother was from. Also included are photographs of Eddie Ells and his first wife taken before and after their marriage as well as photographs with their family members in Kingsport where Eddie was from and in Prince Edward Island where his first wife Lillian Genge came from. There are also photographs of Annabel’s friends and colleagues including Peggy Richard Standring and the women who Annabel worked with at the Income Tax Office in Halifax as well as staff members of the Provincial Archives. Also included are a number of unidentified photographs of various people and locations, photographs of a flying club, tombstones, pet cemeteries, railway photographs, automobiles, activities, buildings, ships and other relatives and acquaintances of Annabel and Eddie Ells.
