              The fonds consists of materials that were found in a scrapbook that was owned by W. C. Smith in the 1950s - 1960s. The scrapbook was photocopied and discarded, along with original newspaper clippings. There are 2 cm of textual records regarding Victoria Park, Truro, NS, including brochures, correspondence, financial statements, and reports. Photographs show camping in Victoria Park, the Adult Violin Program, and scenery. 91.150.1 - 4

              Part of Ford Webber fonds
              Series forms part of the Ford Webber fonds and consists of records from Ford’s school years, including examination books, and exercise books containing English compositions, writing exercises, mathematics, health, and other subjects. Also included is a scribbler containing information about baseball games played by students including Ford. In addition, series contains a souvenir card containing poetry given to Ford by his teacher, Doris Dakin, in June of 1945 when he was in grade two. Series also includes two report cards, one quarterly and one monthly; and three certificates showing that he had completed grades two, three, and four. Accession numbers: 2010.017, 2013.023
              Sandy Young fonds

              This fonds consists of records related to Sandy Young’s academic research, interests, and teaching career which have a particular emphasis on sport and sport history in Nova Scotia and Canada. The largest series in the fonds consists of student papers, most of which were written for Dr. Young’s leisure studies classes and contain information gleaned from student interviews with athletes. The fonds also contains official and personal correspondence; research notes; newspaper clippings primarily regarding Nova Scotia athletes; conference information; committee records; film and video recordings used for class instruction; magazines; programs from various sports associations and sport teams; publications which include many articles written by Young on Maritime sport history; sound recordings; slides dealing with international sports history used for teaching; photographs of mostly Nova Scotian or Canadian athletes; postcards; maps; and scrapbooks. The fonds also contains an assortment of artifacts and memorabilia related to Nova Scotia Olympian Aileen Meagher, including a track outfit, relay baton, and Olympic bronze medal certificate.               Series forms part of Garth M. Hosking General Store fonds and consists of two original photographs: one of people skating on Oyster Pond in the early 1900s and one landscape view, looking east across Salmon River c. 1942 with the old bridge still in place and Salmon River House in its pre-renovated form.               Part of Helen Jennex fonds
              Sub-series forms part of history and heritage activities series of the Helen Jennex fonds and consists of black-and-white photographs of Eastern Shore locations and people which were collected by Helen Jennex. Included are views of Navy Pool, a lobster hatchery and a skating pond in Jeddore, a lumber mill in Oyster Pond, Salmon River, the Clam Bay schoolhouse, a church, and a sailboat called the Viola G. Hartlin. A photograph of two women identifies them as Mrs. Ervin Myers and Mrs. Byron Mitchell, while other photographs of people, including a wedding photograph, are unidentified. Sub-series also includes some school photographs, including Clam Bay School photographs and a photograph of a newspaper team at Robert Jamison Memorial Consolidated High School. Also included is an unusually composed photograph of Oyster Pond schoolchildren posed on the shoreline, which may have been taken sometime around 1910 by itinerant school photographer Frank Adams, possibly while working under the company name O. B. Stubbs. Some of the photographs are printed onto a card backing, and in some cases are in postcard format. Some photographs are also mounted on cardboard. Also included in the sub-series are two colour photographs and a black-and-white photograph of houses, mounted on a piece of paper. The black-and-white photograph has a family in front, with one member identified as Ella Hill. Accession number 2009.039
              Lena Ferguson fonds

              Fonds consists of approximately 137 hours of oral history interviews conducted by Lena Ferguson. Most interviewees were residents of the Eastern Shore region of Halifax County, particularly the Chezzetcook area. Interview topics include genealogy, local industries, occupations, music, shipping, community life, traditions, and folklore. In addition to interviews, the creator recorded school reunions, concerts, weddings, and church anniversaries. Several paper transcripts are included as well as scrapbooks featuring articles written by Lena and other newspaper articles regarding the Chezzetcook area. 2019.014

              Series forms part of the Eastern Shore Archives map collection and consists of one map of Nova Scotia indicating motor roads and recreational resources. Inshore and lake fishing areas are marked, as well as game areas for moose, deer and bear. Also includes a 1909 copy of a 1903 map of Tangiers Lumber and Halifax Co., NS, surveyed by H. W. Andrews. The map was applied for by Alfred Dickie in 1903 and shows land grants and Crown lands in the Tangiers area and features names of property holders and the amount of acreage owned. A lumber mill as erected by the Tangier River sometime around the turn of the twentieth century by Rufus E. Dickie of Stewiacke, son of Alfred Dickie.
