        General note

Accompanying memo reads 'The Board of Studies was a kind of forerunner to the Academic Senate of the University. The University Administration developed along these lines: At one time there was Senate and a Board of Studies. As the Governance of the University changed the Board of Governors grew out of what was the original Senate and Board of Studies grew into the Academic Senate.' AR
