              Part of Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds
              Series forms part of the Annabel (Sitman) Ells fonds and consists of several maps, the majority of which were produced by the Department of Mines and Resources between 1935 and 1948 and include the areas of Yarmouth, Shelburne, Queens, and Annapolis counties, Tangier, Upper Musquodoboit, Ship Harbour, Guysborough County, Ecum Secum, Moncton, Cape Breton, Owl’s Head, Port Dufferin, River John, New Glasgow, Halifax. Series also includes highway and tourist maps of Nova Scotia, the Maritimes, Halifax and Dartmouth from c. 1948-1965 as well as street guides of Halifax and Dartmouth c. 1955-1965. Also included are Department of National Defence topographical maps of Chezzetcook, Musquodoboit, Halifax, and Sambro from 1939 and 1943. Accession number: 2013.066

              Collection consists of records of Freeman's activities as a researcher, correspondent and a heritage recorder for over a period of thirty years. Also included are historical documents and correspondence preserved by her grandfather and father, and family records given to her by a number of present day and former residents of Roseway/Churchover/Carleton Village area of Shelburne County. Her genealogical research also included in depth notes on branches of local families who settled in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia, and various counties in southern New Brunswick.               Fonds consists of photographic works created by Brooks. The majority of the fonds was created for his photojournalist assignments or on spec. The fonds also consists of textual material related to Brooks' assignments and biographical material. The graphic material centers on Southwest Nova Scotia, primarily the counties of Digby and Shelburne. The fonds has been arranged in 23 series based on content or purpose of photograph.
