              Fonds consists of one day book used to record sales of general sundries and payment (often in labour at the Young's shipyard), purchases/receipts of building materials used at the shipyard and accounts of Abram Young's estate. Also included are personal and business receipts.
              Blaikie Family Collection

              The collection contains textual records and photographs that demonstrate the activities of several members of the Blaikie Family of Great Village, NS, for almost a century from the mid-1800s to the mid-1900s. Items were arranged into series by the archivist based on record type or content, including: letters; insurance policies for various properties in Great Village; payment agreements; Estate of Melinda (Gould) Blaikie; bills; land deeds; John Wier contracts; World War I correspondence, mostly between Joseph McKay Blaikie and Blanche Johnson; ledgers; documents related to the shipbuilding and shipping industries, focusing on “The Peerless”, “Chieftain”, and “The President”. The fonds also contains assorted items related to community organizations and happenings in Great Village, NS, including: day books for Ezra Layton’s store; Iron Age Division of the Sons of Temperance; dyke books; play bills; Corinthians Lodge; war rations books; Women’s Institute of Great Village; and a scrapbook. The photograph collection contains a large number of portraits, with most people identified as members of the Blaikie Family.               Fonds consists of correspondence, one day book, one pay book and one journal regarding the construction of the second S.S. Valinda. Also included is one log book containing the crew list.

              business and personal records of David and James B. Davison. The majority of the records are in relation to the general store and shipyard operated by the brothers. These consist of ledgers, accounts, receipts, promissary notes, contracts and correspondence. The correspondence includes letters regarding cargo, sale of vessels, political events in Halifax and some personal correspondence with family and friends. Also included are records regarding the settling of David Davison's estate.

              Fonds consists of one day book, containing account records, created by Forman Hatfield for his Tusket Wedge general store and one ship yard time book, which records hours and some activities regarding the building of the 1709 ton ship John Y. Robbins, which was launched on 3 July 1890. The last section of the notebook was used by P. Lent Hatfield as an account book in his general store.
