              Ce fonds consiste de 7 journaux personnels écrit par Mlle d'Entremont lorsqu'elle était jeune fille. Ses entrées sont peu informatives sauf celles de nature sociales. Les sujets qui paraissent les plus fréquents dans ces journaux sont tels que suit : 1) Elle mentionne assez régulièrement les bateaux qui entrent et qui sortent du port ainsi que leurs quantité de poisson. 2) Promenades et vie sociale : Elle mentionne des promenades à Yarmouth au Petit-Ruisseau à Tusket Wedge, aux Etats Unis, etc. Le mode de transportation était par bateau, par traineau ou par calèche. Elle décrit aussi des sorties sociales telles que des danses des visites, prendre des marches, prendre des repas chez des amis et chez des membres de famille, des « carding parties », etc. 3) L'ennui : elle indique souvent qu'elle est angoissée parce qu'elle est seule et qu'elle n'a pas d'amant et elle craint rester célibataire. 4) Religion (services, décès) : elle note en passant si qu'elle à assisté ou non à un tel service religieux.               Series forms part of the Eastern Shore Archives map collection and consists of copies of topographical maps of Halifax County published by A. F. (Ambrose Finson) Church & Co. of Granville St., Halifax in 1865. The maps were produced from actual surveys drawn and engraved under the direction of H. F. Walling and bear certification indicating that they were entered according to law on the twenty-fourth day of March, 1864 by Ambrose F. Church, although they were not published until the following year. They also include plans of townships and directories for businesses in Halifax and various other localities, which identify prominent citizens and tradesmen. In addition, they include names of heads of households, statistics for vessels, population, education, religion, and acres of improved land as well as information on locations of ports of entry, post offices, telegraph stations and way offices.               The fonds consists of records accumulated by Annabel (Siteman) Ells during the course of her research on the area of Ship Harbour and the families who lived there as well as personal records created and accumulated throughout her lifetime. The fonds includes a wide variety of records such as land related documents, wills, Loyalist petitions, census information, court papers, church registers and vital statistics including marriage, birth, and death records; school papers, genealogies, clippings and notes taken from various newspapers and periodicals, photographs and negatives, correspondence, postcards, and diaries.               Series is part of the Katherine L. Stoddard fonds and consists of one certificate of discharge from the Mercantile Marine Office for Robert Stoddard, seaman, from the ship Champion, of Halifax, dated April 5, 1882. Stoddard had served since December 14th of the previous year. Robert Jamison Stoddard was the grandfather of Katherine L. Stoddard. Accession number: 2013.008
