              Le fonds est constitué de découpures de journaux, de photographies, de testaments, d’articles de correspondance et d’autres documents manuscrits au sujet de ou appartenant à des membres du clergé (abbés, prêtres, évêques) qui ont œuvré dans l’ancien diocèse de Yarmouth, des personnalités originaires surtout du Sud-Ouest de la Nouvelle-Écosse et des personnes qui ont laissé, dans leur testament, des fonds à l’ancien séminaire Holy Heart à Halifax. On trouve également dans le fonds d’autres documents relatifs au diocèse de Yarmouth ainsi qu’un exemplaire d’Evangeline de Henry Wadsworth Longfellow de 1893.Le fonds est composé de deux séries : Série A Personnages et Série B Documents divers.               Series forms part of the Annabel (Siteman) Ells fonds and consists of information from church records and vital statistics gathered by Annabel Ells during the course of her research. Included are marriage, birth, and death records, registers, and cemetery listings from various churches and parishes. Records include parish registers from St. Matthew’s and the parishes of Ship Harbour and Sheet Harbour, historical notes from St. George’s Church in Halifax, notes from The Presbyterian Witness, records related to the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts, sketches of saints’ lives, letters and journal extracts of Bishop Charles Inglis, and other religious records. Also included is a census of Loyalist settlers at Ship Harbour who came with Capt. Thomas Green, various obituaries, a memorial of Henry Siteman, and correspondence between the Bishop of Nova Scotia and Rev. John Stevenson. Accession number: 2013.066

              Part of St. Mary's Basilica (Halifax, N.S.) fonds
              Series forms part of St. Mary's Basilica (Halifax, N.S.) fonds and consists of signatures of members of the Confraternity between 1891 and 1910, arranged chronologically. Members were enrolled in the society in a special ritual and presented with a brown scapular. Their names were then entered into the society's roll book and kept at the Cathedral. Under the old system of indulgences, this roll book proved that an individual qualified for a certain number of indulgences. At the back of the book, there are some pages listing mass times as headings (i.e. Morning Mass, 6 O'Clock Mass), with names and amounts. Whether the amounts were membership dues or donations is unclear.

              Series forms part of the Grace (Williams) Forsythe fonds and consists of the annual report of the Oyster Pond United Baptist Church in 1978. Grace Forsythe served on the Nominating Committee as an auditor. The report includes the Oyster Pond Baptist Sewing Circle report, the clerk’s report, treasurer’s report, the Deacon’s report, faith offering report, W.M.S. report, and finance committee report.               Part of Laura F. Stoddard family fonds
              Series forms part of the Laura F. Stoddard family fonds and consists of a blank pledge card for a Members Associate Pledge likely for the Christian Endeavour Society as well as a certificate stating that William E. Stoddard enlisted in the White Ribbon Army of the N.S.S.S. Association in 1902 at the Sabbath School of the Union Church in Owl’s Head and pledged to abstain from alcohol, tobacco, and profanity. There is also a certificate presented to Robert Burns Williams by the Presbyterian Church of Canada for the memorizing of scripture in 1914 and one presented to Florence Etta Stoddard for reciting the catechism in 1907. Series also includes the communion roll of the Presbyterian Church at Clam Harbour which lists the names of both male and female voters, a pamphlet on the method of taking the vote on church union, and a number of used voter ballots from the vote on church union. There is also one bulletin from the First Baptist Church in Chanston Illinois which mentions a Miss Helen Fisher who attended the Nova Scotia Provincial Normal College. Accession number: 2013.010

              Series forms part of St. Mary's Basilica (Halifax, N.S.) fonds and consists of financial records of the Society's chapter at St. Mary's Cathedral in the form of one cash book, arranged chronologically. The Society was an international charitable organization established in 1822 in Lyons, France. The St. Mary's chapter was founded in 1843 and used their funds to subscribe to a new Catholic newslpaper in the area called "The Cross."

              Series forms part of St. Mary's Basilica (Halifax, N.S.) fonds and consists of minutes and account book (1840-1849) for the society and an illuminated calligraphy address (11 July 1881) to Monsignor Patrick Power, in recognition of 30 years of service. This society was formed in 1840 to promote Christian education and they founded two free schools for Catholic children: St. Mary's Parochial Male School and St. Patrick's School in the north end of Halifax. The Society members paid the wages of its teachers, awarded prizes to students, and provided clothing and shoes for those who could not afford to buy them. Arranged chronologically, the minutes and account book contains correspondence, member lists, membership dues, resolutions, amounts collected and ongoing totals for individuals at the back of the book, arranged alphabetically.
