Biographical history
T.M. Power’s Drug Store was established circa 1873 on Argyle Street by Mr. Thomas M. Power (August 10, 1851-June 11, 1934). A new location was opened on December 1, 1897 at the corner of North Street and Lockman Street (present day Barrington Street) across from the Intercolonial Railway Station and close to the naval dockyard in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Custodial history
Received by NSARM from Dr. Lou and Mrs. Pamela Collins of Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1992, transferred to HRM Archives in 2009.
Scope and content
Item consists of a booklet inventorying the stock held by T.M. Power Drug Store in 1899. Apothecary items and candy or sweets listed, such as spruce gum, balsam, etc, as well as stationery and toiletries.
