Administrative history
The Truro Art Society was established in 1969 to support artists in the Truro, NS area. It is a volunteer-run organization that sponsors exhibitions, offers workshops, and provides education to the arts community.
Custodial history
Records were accumulated by the Truro Art Society from their establishment in 1969 to their [temporary closure] in 1999. The records were then donated to the Colchester Historical Society.
Scope and content
The fonds consists of 30 cm of administrative records, including annual reports, minutes, financial statements, and an additional 30 cm of scrapbooks and guestbooks that demonstrate the activities of the Truro Art Society from 1969 - 1999. Photographs also show the activities of the organization, including the Attic Painters art shows, the organization's anniversary party, a collection of quilted items, and a pottery show.
