Scope and content

Series forms part of George H. Craig fonds and consists of views from Halifax, Annapolis Royal, Grand Pre, Windsor, and Lawrencetown, and includes images of the Mi'kmaq, a black baptism in a Dartmouth Lake, ships in dry dock, fishermen, soldiers parading, and Acadian relics. Many of these images may have been used by Craig to paint The Expulsion of the Acadians. Series also includes views of sailing vessels, churches, bridges in Nova Scotia and Quebec, Craig's paintings, and an experimental negative of firemen rescuing a baby (scratches on the negative simulate smoke).
