Biographical history

Thomas “Wallace” Murray Russell was born September 20, 1884. His parents were William Russell and Caroline Elizabeth Parker. He was a fisherman and boat builder in Clam Harbour and married Jane “Janie” Eisan on December 28, 1927. They had two daughters, Carrie Elizabeth, who was born and died in February of 1933, and Daisy Adelaide Marina. Wallace died February 6, 1983.

Custodial history

The copies of the boat plans were donated to the Eastern Shore Archives by Gordon Hammond. The originals came into his possession through his son, Ken, who purchased the home of Wallace Russell and found that the records had been left behind by the previous owners. The receipts were given to Gordon by Daisy Russell to be donated to the archives. Daisy is the daughter of Wallace and Janie Russell.

Scope and content

Fonds consists of receipts for sales and purchases by Wallace Russell, a receiving station license from the Department of Transport-- Telecommunications Division and photocopies of boat plans found in Russell's home.

Immediate source of acquisition

Receipts were given to Gordon Hammond by Daisy Russell and the boat plans were given to him by his son Ken who purchased the home of Wallace Russell. Gordon Hammond delivered the items to the Eastern Shore Archives.
