Westmoor Horticultural Society began on June 7th, 1954, as an organization of horticultural enthusiasts wishing to promote gardening in Halifax, Nova Scotia. This organization was later renamed, Halifax Westmoor Horticultural Society, and exists as of 2016.

Fonds consists of minutes, reports, membership lists, correspondence, scrapbooks with photographs of members and newspaper clippings, and related horticultural information. Records document the work of the Society in promoting gardening in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Records were donated by the Westmoor Horticultural Society to Nova Scotia Archives and Records Management, who then transferred them to Halifax Municipal Archives in 2011. An accrual of scrapbooks was donated in 2018.
