              Series forms part of Clifford Shand fonds and consists of letters from his children, friends and family. Several letters are addressed to both him and his wife. Letters from Errol while serving in WWI are included here. Letters have been arranged in chronological and alphabetical order, based on originator.

The records all relate to her time abroad during World War I with the British Expeditionary Force and the Red Cross.

              Sous-fonds forms part of Wyman family fonds and consists of letters written to Wilfred, a notebook kept by Wilfred while overseas and his personal effects which were returned to his mother upon his death. Also contained with his records is a photograph of Wilfred's girlfriend, Ella Urquhart. Containted among Wilfred's personal effects was a pocket knife, a pipe, watch, scissors, wallet, battalion badge, dog tags and one medal. These items were transferred to the Museum's artifact collection.

              Fonds consists of reports and correspondence regarding the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital; clippings regarding the history, people and events of Tatamagouche; his will; notices and publications regarding the Presbyterian Church and Women's Society; personal and job related correspondence; documents regarding the settling of estates, including that of his father; records of the Farmers' Commercial Union; correspondence written by Nelson while serving over-seas during World War I; and correspondence regarding his time as Chief Observer in the Aircraft Detection Corps for the Tatamagouche area. Also contained are 6 ledgers used to record legal services rendered, 6 cash books, 3 day books, 2 legal diaries and a ledger regarding the sales of the magazine The Dalhousian. Also contained is a note book for services rendered, such as mortgages and deeds, 1906-1907, probably kept by Nelson while working as a legal clerk.

              Fonds consists of a considerable number of letters from Robert Ryan to his family while serving over-seas. Fonds also consists of James Ryan's militia records, business records, personal correspondence and financial records; Mary Josephine's correspondence; records regarding Walter Ryan's militia career, business records, personal records, and articles written by Walter. Fonds also contains family photographs, newspaper clippings regarding Walter and his father James, documents regarding James' career as mayor and town councillor, records and photographs of the Kings Troops Calvary (militia), and business correspondence. The majority of the correspondence is photocopies, however there are some original documents created from 1835-1985.

              Series forms part of Laura F. Stoddard family fonds and consists of eleven postcards, a Christmas card, and several notes to Hannah, Walter, and Laura Stoddard from various correspondents and from all over the world including Italy, the United States, and Britain. Series also contains ten letters to Walter and Hannah Stoddard from Reverend James Anderson including nine prayer cards. In addition there are two military Christmas cards from 1918 to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Stoddard including one from a Private Duncan near [Brussels] and one from France from N. Webber of the Canadian Forestry Corps, 70th Co. Overseas. There is also one letter to Mrs. Hannah Stoddard from the Imperial War Graves Commission dated 1923 concerning the erection of a headstone, correspondence to Hannah Stoddard from the Treasury Department, Bureau of War Risk Insurance concerning the life insurance of Frank Cecil Stoddard who was enlisted in the US army; and a wreath order form and card sent to Mrs. W. E. Stoddard from the War Graves Commission. Series also includes a number of birth and wedding announcements as well as a letter to Walter Stoddard from his brother Dr. T. A. Stoddard discussing the purchase of land to establish a muskrat, mink, and fox fur farm. There is also a booklet on raising muskrats, which is referenced in the letter. Accession number: 2013.010
