              Series forms part of Laura F. Stoddard family fonds and consists of items from the Stoddard Hotel that date to the First World War. Series includes one postcard featuring the Cenotaph in Whitehall, London; four Union Jack stamps, and one “Subscriber Victory Loan 1918” card with an attached pin that says “Victory Loan Salesman.” Accession number: 2013.010

              Fonds consists of reports and correspondence regarding the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital; clippings regarding the history, people and events of Tatamagouche; his will; notices and publications regarding the Presbyterian Church and Women's Society; personal and job related correspondence; documents regarding the settling of estates, including that of his father; records of the Farmers' Commercial Union; correspondence written by Nelson while serving over-seas during World War I; and correspondence regarding his time as Chief Observer in the Aircraft Detection Corps for the Tatamagouche area. Also contained are 6 ledgers used to record legal services rendered, 6 cash books, 3 day books, 2 legal diaries and a ledger regarding the sales of the magazine The Dalhousian. Also contained is a note book for services rendered, such as mortgages and deeds, 1906-1907, probably kept by Nelson while working as a legal clerk.

This includes: letters from Laurie while stationed at various training camps and later France to his father and occasionally his mother; letters from Charlie and his wife Carmen while in Mexico and Oakland to his mother and father mostly requesting financial assistance and outline some of their difficulties; letters from Harry to his father discussing family matters (mainly Charlie and Carmen) and copies of letters that Harry wrote to his mother and forwarded to his father; letters to Harry from Leila before and after they were married; letters from Grandmother Bishop to the three Bishop boys; financial (personal and business) records of William Bishop; Christmas cards; and letters from Lizzie's brother Hedley.               Sous-fonds forms part of Wyman family fonds and consists of letters written to Wilfred, a notebook kept by Wilfred while overseas and his personal effects which were returned to his mother upon his death. Also contained with his records is a photograph of Wilfred's girlfriend, Ella Urquhart. Containted among Wilfred's personal effects was a pocket knife, a pipe, watch, scissors, wallet, battalion badge, dog tags and one medal. These items were transferred to the Museum's artifact collection.

              Series forms part of Anna Barbara Webber family fonds and consists of records related to Blois Webber’s military service during the Second World War from 1943 to 1945. Blois was a Private in the 1st Battalion of the Regina Rifle Regiment, trained at Camp Borden, Ontario, and was wounded in action in Belgium on February 18, 1945. Series includes letters from Blois to his sister Frances Robson and one letter to Frances’ husband Doug Robson, including one letter to Frances written a week after he was wounded. Series also includes two telegrams from Ottawa to Frances informing her of Blois’ injuries. In addition are two pay books and a wartime devotional book possessed by Blois Webber. Inserted into the pages of the devotional book is a slip of paper containing information about Blois’ rank and training company. Series also includes a five franc note with the date October 11, 1944 written on it, which was originally housed in a billfold and was probably acquired by Blois in Europe as a souvenir. Series also includes a letter from Leonard Stanley Webber to his cousin Emma, written sometime during the First World War while Leonard was in active service in the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
