This fonds well-documents the minutes of the Student Council and contains a considerable proportion of correspondence, most arising from various committees and from Dalhousie Student Union presidents and managers. The Student Union Council records contain minutes and reports covering almost one century (1899-1994) of student government at Dalhousie. As well, activities of the following units (spanning various years, mostly within the 1960s and 1970s) are included, though the records are not comprehensive: Academic Planning Committee, Advisory Council on Athletics, Alcohol and Drug Awareness Committee, Amateur Athletic Club, Association of Student Councils, Association of Students with Disabilities, Canadian University Travel Service, Dalhousie Student Entertainment Committee, Halifax Student Housing Society, Saga Food Services, Science Society, Yearbook (1971 only), Young Men's Christian Association of Dalhousie College. Consists of two handmade and handwritten books entitled, The Owlet and The Work of the Owl, which were created by the students of the Owl’s Head Harbour School. The Owlet was a magazine that the students created for exhibition in Halifax with the help of their teacher. Associated editors of The Owlet are listed as being Una Palmer, Reta Palmer, and Helen Parker. It features poems, horoscopes, essays, a school prophecy, jokes, drawings including the school and its floor plan, a list of pupils, and lists of improvements made to the school in the year 1932-1933. Some of the essays in this book relate to work and life in Owls Head and include an essay on sheep farming and the breed of sheep used. The Work of the Owl is a yearbook created by the students of the Owl’s Head Harbour School. It includes the school yell, school song, songs learned during year, animated map of Owl’s Head, poetry and prose about various topics, horoscopes, humor, and drawings. Accession number 2013.005
Suzanne LeBlanc fonds

The fonds consists of records related to the MSVU choir from the period 1974-1977. The choir was under the direction Sister Margaret Young and these records were accumulated by choir secretary and student member Suzanne LeBlanc. The MSVU choir was “reorganized” in the fall of 1974 and by 1976 had become one of the largest and most active groups on campus with approximately 50 members who met twice a week at the Cardinal Cushing Auditorium in Vincent Hall. All members of the university community, including student, faculty and staff, were part of the choir. The choir participated in a number of performances in a variety of genres, including musical theatre, pop, traditional, folk, rock, classical and religious. The fonds consists primarily of a scrapbook which contains photographs, newspaper clippings and ephemera (such as announcements, performance flyers, tickets, memos, notes). Choir performances covered in the scrapbook include Christmas dinners, spring concerts, productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Raggedy-Ann’s Christmas, Board of Governors meetings, and talent shows. Photographs are of choir students, rehearsals, performances, and Vinnie the bear and choir mascot. Other records in the fonds include sheet music of songs sung by the choir and individual programs of choir performances including baccalaureate mass, the canonization of Elizabeth Ann Seton, and the installation of Sister Mary Albertus as president of MSVU. The fonds also contains some personal records from Suzanne LeBlanc’s time as a student, including her convocation program and dinner invitation, a book cover, and a greeting card she received for her service as choir secretary. Finally, the fonds also contains 2 sound recordings on audio cassette which contain a recording of a performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat as well as a general choir concert.
