This diary is a discrete item and is a copy of the diary written by Albert White during the course of a trip to England from June to October of 1897 to visit family and to witness and participate in the celebration of Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee on June 22nd. He sailed from Rimouski on June 6th on the Vancouver and left Liverpool on September 16th on the Scotsman. While most of the diary is related to his visit in England, an account of his journey from Mooseland to Rimouski gives an accurate account of transportation during the late 19th century. The fonds consists of correspondence, photographs and negatives, newspaper clippings, and books that belonged to Emma Ellis, concerning her participation in the Expo-Africa programme by St. Andrew's United Church, Truro, NS. The photograph series also contains portraits of members of the Locke family, as well as unidentified individuals, taken in Nova Scotia and New England. Fonds consists of the personal papers of Dr. James Dinwiddie which include his lecture notes, scientific journals, notebooks, manuscript, early experiments for 1774, correspondence, and personal journals and also some records from the Royal Institution for 1808-1814. The papers also include the journals of W.J. Proudfoot and a biography of his father (and Dinwiddie's son-in-law) James Proudfoot. MS-2-726

Part of W. Hugh Conrod fonds
Series forms part of W. Hugh Conrod fonds and consists of records likely related to research undertaken by Conrod on the road now known as Nova Scotia Highway 7. The research was likely related to a display of photographs which Conrod put on at the Dartmouth Heritage Museum circa 1967. The photographs were possibly taken along the Highway 7 route. Series includes a copy of the Nova Scotia Highways Statutes of 1920, a photocopied excerpt from James E. Rutledge’s 1954 book “Sheet Harbour: A Local History,” and a sheet of typewritten notes referring to a stage coach route. 2010.005
