Biographical history
Janet Chisholm was born Sep 8 1873 at Glassburn, Antigonish County the daughter of James and Catherine Chisholm. One of 11 siblings, she was educated in local schools and in adulthood, went to Boston to work as a domestic. In retirement she returned to Antigonish and entered the R K MacDonald Nursing Home where she died Dec 1 1967 at age 94
Custodial history
Records were donated to Antigonish Heritage Museum by Garry Fidler whose father Judge Hugh MacPherson was a collector of local history and archival materials. Acc # 2018.067.001
Scope and content
Fonds consists of letters and memorial tributes relating to Janet Chisholm’s brother Roderick Chisholm who died in 1909, a theological student with the Society Jesuit. As well, there is a handwritten will, a couple of scapulars, and personal correspondence.
