Biographical history
Margaret L Purcell, a native of Sherbrooke, Guysborough
County was educated in local schools and eventually studied at Mount St Vincent in Halifax. She entered the Sisters of Charity convent and her religious name became Sister Francis Leon. At the time of her death she was teaching in Lourdes, Pictou County and died at age 35 of pneumonia Nov 19 1914.
Custodial history
Donated to Museum from individual who picked up book at local yard sale.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of one hardbound autograph book with notations and signatures of friends, family and classmates. Many of those who signed were from Goldenville and Sherbrooke in Guysborough County, Halifax and Boston.
