The Research Committee was established in 1970 from funds provided by the University budget. The Research Committee supported research by members of the University. The Committee invited full-time faculty members of the University to submit applications for grants in aid of research. The Committee consisted of the Academic Vice-President and one faculty members from each Faculty.
