The Wallace Bay Women's Institute was founded in 1913 at Wallace Bay, Nova Scotia. The Institute was established in response to a national movement, originating in Ontario in 1911. The goal of the movement was to encourage the education of rural women. The Wallace Bay Women's Institute established educational programs for local women and held regular meetings and events. The Wallace Bay Women's Institute dissolved in 1993.

13 minute books, invitations, programs and publications. Minute books consist of minutes of meetings, accounts, reports, membership lists, and interleaved within the books are receipts, certificates and correspondence.

The spine of the 1913 minutes book is broken, care should taken when handling.
Immediate source of acquisition
Records were donated by the members of the Institute per former member Betty Brown in 1995.
