    Administrative history

    The Committee on Graduate Awards was established in 1976 the Saint Mary's University Senate. 'The Graduate Awards Committee shall be responsible for the formulation of policy regarding financial assistance to graduate studies and shall make its recommendations to Senate. The committee shall develop and, as necessary, revise the general criteria and procedures to be followed in awarding financial assistance to graduate students and shall make its recommendations to Senate. The committee shall decide on the applications forwarded to it (Senate By-Laws 1981). The committee consists of: the Academic Vice-President or Dean of Faculty, one faculty member from each of the Faculties other than the one submitting an application for a financial award, and one graduate student (Senate By Laws 1981).
