The records were kept at the Henry T. d'Entremont General Store until the summer of 1987, when the new owner of the store - Wayne and Elaine LeBlanc, Herman LeBlanc and Gertrude Hines- donated them to the Argyle Township Court House Archives.
Scope and content
Fonds consists of business records, correspondence, insurance and inspection records, promotional material, supply catalogues, and periodicals pertaining to Henry T. d'Entremont's business operations and investments. In addition, it contains correspondence and a postmaster's book from the Lower East Pubnico post office, and records from the Catholic Mutual Benefit Association and the Amiro Bros. & d'Entremont Fish Company. Also included are records of the Pubnico Fisherman's Bait Association and correspondence, invoices and inventory records pertaining to Marc E. LeBlanc's general store. It has not been established why these records were found amongst the d'Entremont papers. Records have been arranged chronologically. Periodicals and catalogues have been alphabetically arranged according to title of name of supplier. Ledger/books are located on storage shelves and loose records are contained in banker boxes.
