business and personal records of David and James B. Davison. The majority of the records are in relation to the general store and shipyard operated by the brothers. These consist of ledgers, accounts, receipts, promissary notes, contracts and correspondence. The correspondence includes letters regarding cargo, sale of vessels, political events in Halifax and some personal correspondence with family and friends. Also included are records regarding the settling of David Davison's estate.

Hirtle of Lunenburg) of Ernst’s grandparents, Abraham (1849-1911) and Rachel (Graves) Ernst (1854-?). The latter was the daughter of Anthony Graves, who figured prominently in the history of the treasure hunt on Oak Island. MBMS-62
