Collection primarily consists of ephemera relating to schools and education in the Municipality of the District of St. Mary's, including school newspapers from St. Mary's Rural High, Sherbrooke (ca. 1977-1982); St. Mary's Rural High history and memory books (1988 and 2003); and a St. Mary's Rural High Official Opening program (1953); report cards, school certificates, and an autograph book belonging to Margaret Carroll Sears, a student at Sherbrooke schools, which describe subjects taught and lists local teachers and students (ca. 1948-1960s). Also included are two miscellaneous ephemera items, the Schooner Song Book and a booklet for the Christening Ceremonies, CCGC Bickerton, Transport Canada Coast Guard. 2019.009

Collection consists of copies of half-yearly returns of schools along the Eastern Shore of Nova Scotia. The returns date from 1828 to 1839 and give information about the teachers and students at the schools, as well as giving a small amount of information about fee payments and the schools' general finances. Records were copied between about 1972 and about 2002. Accession number 2003.010.

Fonds contains school registers for Colchester County schools from 1868-1986. Most registers measure 28x44cm or 26x38cm and contain 10-20 pages, though in some cases, only a few pages remain. Registers generally include a list of students' names, along with their sex, age, address, parent or guardians' names, as well as a record of attendance and general standing. Registers have been printed by the Nova Scotia Department of Education and data has been handwritten by the schoolteacher.
